It was 10-years ago this month when South Africans of all races elected Nelson Mandela as their nation’s first democratically-elected, post-apartheid president. South Africa’s previous president, F.W. deKlerk, showed unprecedented statesmanship by having undertaken the bold move to end that nation’s apartheid regime. By the early 1990’s and the
